He Loves Us More

Tuesdays with Tabitha

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are Ye not much better than they?
Matthew 6:26 (KJV)

In a world full of selfishness, anger, and disapointment, it's almost impossible to ever feel good enough.

We all spend our lives trying to earn some form of Grace. Sometimes its from a family member who will never approve, an employer who can't get enough, or a friend who makes you feel small.

Or maybe you're trying to earn Grace from a God who you feel is impossible to please.

But the Bible shows us that everyone and everything God created is significant. Not a single sparrow falls from the sky that He doesn't see. And that sparrow that He loves so much?

He loves you more.

John 3:16 clearly outlines this love by explaining that God even gave His son to die for us so that we can have eternal life by simply believing on His name.

For free.

We can't earn it, that's why its called Grace. It's a free gift, completely unmerited favor, undeserved, and just waiting to be accepted.

God knew that in this life, we would feel the need to earn grace and work for love. But He makes it clear that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, not powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature would be able to seperate us from the love of God! (Romans 8:38-39)

God knows we aren't perfect. He knows we have faults. But He also knows that the blood of Jesus has the power to cover our sins, cleansing us in every way that we could ever fall short. And because of that, we can come to Him and know that we are loved with the deepest, purest, most intense love possible.

God loves everything on this earth that He created, even the birds.

But He loves us more.

Do you often find yourself trying to earn Grace?
When the world leaves you feeling small, do you sometimes forget to take comfort in knowing that Gods love never fails?
